Himayathul Islam Higher Secondary School .

The first school was established by the Indisharul Islam Sabha, the first Muslim organization in Kerala. Reverent Khan Bahadur P M Muthukoya Thangal was President and CA Kunju Moosa Haji was the Secretary. Other prominent school management committee members were Rev PM Atakoya Thangal, Rev.S A Gifree M Bavootti Haji,Rev. KV Koyassan Koya Haji, Rev.KM Kathirikkoya Haji, Rev. PP Abdurahman Koya and Rev. PT Bappan Koya Haji.

The school is now headed by a committee comprising living legends .PK Ahmed is President. He is the Chairman of Peekay Group, the leading business house of North Kerala. With him at the helm the group grew by leaps and bounds and diversified its activities covering steel, flour mills, plantation, construction, real estate, education, health care etc. The group plays a vital role in the industrial and educational development of Kerala.

CP Kunjumuhammed is the Teasurer. A dynamic, high powered and influential visionary in educational and commerce sectors, spear heading major institutions like JDT Islam, Farook College and KRS is the Teasurer. He is another living legend instrumental in transforming JDT group of institutions and Farook College into Internationally acclaimed centers of excellence boasting world class infra structure and innovations in technology assisted teaching.

Sri. K. Hassan Koya has been the Secretary of School Management Committee and Manager of the School for the last 36 years and P.K.V Abdul Aziz Joint Secretary of the school management committee assist him as a Manager-in-charge. This team, comprising Sri PK Ahamed Sri CP Kunhimuhammed and Sri K Hassankoya was instrumental in steering the school to its present academic heights. Under this management the higher secondary section was started in 2000 and the English medium division was started in the school in 2002 .The school is equipped with smart labs, smart classrooms, and a state of art audio visual room and library.

The school has a legacy of 100 plus years. Many great personalities adorning the hallways of Kozhikode’s proud history took their first life lessons in these class rooms to name a few ,.Film and theatre persons, K P Ummer and Kanjava; Sports persons Olympian Rahman, C.Ummer and Mehaboob; Musician CM Vadiyil; Politicians PM Abubacker, Syed Umar balakhy Thangal, C P Kunhu and TPM Zahir. Himayathul Islam Higher Secondary School continues its magnificent journey producing well adjusted and cultured citizens who will actively involve in the nation's progress.
